Basically a false flag operation is when you destroy your own property and blame it on another to justify attacking them in retaliation.  A false flag operation is defined in the encyclopaedia as : A false flag operation is a covert operation conducted by governments, corporations and other organizations which are inherently designed to appear as though they were carried out by other parties.

The perpetrators of any false flag operation must without any prejudice commit murder and sacrifice, employ terrorism, employ the media to manipulate public reaction, stitch up innocent peoples, engineer fabricated events, prepare false documents and witnesses, use drone and remote technology, manipulate and intimidate eye witnesses, yield falsehoods to their own armed forces and manipulate the entire story in general to convince the world that it is real.

OPERATION NORTHWOODS

In the early 1960s at the behest of the US President Lyndon Baines Johnson, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Lyman Lemnitzer devised a false flag operation as a pretext to invade Cuba and to aggravate the Soviet Union.

The scheme was part of Operation Northwoods  in which they planned to send in aircraft, flown by remote control and have them crash in the sea around Cuba and then state that they were shot down under orders of Fidel Castro, the dictator of Cuba.

Below is shown a declassified document that was part of the Operation Northwoods covert system of operations.  The document outlines justification for military forces to be used in Cuba, via certain pretexts that would be instigated for the purpose.

This would give the US the excuse needed to invade Cuba and take control of the country.  However, this proposal although talked about in great sincerity was never actually put forward into operation...but it was the catalyst for an idea that was.

ZERO LIBERTY OF USS LIBERTY

There were several other terrorist attacks that they planned to carry out in the proposed Northwoods Operation as well. The plan that was decided upon was the destruction of a US navy ship, and then to blame the attack on Cuba as an excuse to wage war on them....the plan was carried out except for a big change...they would blame Egypt for the atrocity instead, as an excuse to enter a war on Israel's behalf.

USS Liberty, GTR-5 as seen below, a 7725 ton, WWII freighter of the Belmont  class was a technical research ship that was selected for the operation.

USS Liberty could also be classed as a spy ship, in that it gathered information for the National Security Agency  and United States Navy intelligence service.  It did this via monitoring all radio transmissions and then reporting back all interesting findings to HQ at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

USS Liberty was actually the most technologically sophisticated, most identifiable yet unique ship in the world, there was no other like it anywhere that a government admitted ownership of.  The ship was complimented with over 200 crew that operated state of the art electronic surveillance and intercept equipment with satellite dishes, large antennas, TRSS communications systems that transmitted live link messages and sophisticated interpretation devices...Captain Kirks crew from the starship Enterprise NCC 1701 would have been proud!

USS Liberty was indeed an ideal choice but unbeknown to its crew though, it was to be sent on one of the most audacious false flag operations in American covert history.

President L. B. Johnston gave the presidential go ahead with the operation on June 8th 1967, during the fourth day of the Six Day War, when Israel fought against Egypt, Syria and Jordan.  USS Liberty was sent on a secret mission out in the Sinai Peninsula in the eastern Mediterranean, with apparent orders to collect electronic intelligence of Arabian war manoeuvres.

The clearly marked USS Liberty travelling at less than 5 knots with its large 8 x 5 foot American flag blowing in the wind, was in international waters, 17 miles off the coast of Gaza, Israel. It was commanded by experienced captain William McConagle.

Suddenly an Israeli surveillance airplane flew low over the ship and then returned to fly around the vicinity again at the recorded times of 05:15, 08:50, 10:30, 10:56, 11:26, 11:45, 12:20, and 12:45...local time.  This is now understood to have occurred so that USS Liberty could be clearly identified...as the right target.

In the image below, the stars and stripes of the large 8 x 5 foot US flag can be clearly seen flying from the second mast of USS Liberty.

TARGET SIGHTED...

A little while later at 2pm the ship was suddenly and deliberately attacked by three Israeli Mirage 3 fighter bomber aircraft.  At the onset of the attack, the Israeli surveillance plane was jamming the US communications signals, to prevent them for calling for help or to notify anyone of what was happening.

NOTE: Surviving members of the ships crew later explained that to be able to jam their radio signals, the Israelis would have needed to know it was an American ship.  This so that they could intercept certain frequencies, otherwise jamming any signals would have been next to impossible.

The crew of the ship raised a larger 13 x 7 foot American flag to make absolutely certain to the attacking fighters that it was a friendly American ship.  This did not stop the onslaught and the savage, relentless attack continued.

The Israeli planes were all un marked, with no identifying insignia on them whatsoever. Unmarked planes are generally used by governments for their covert operations and funnily they identify themselves as such due to the very fact that they are unmarked.  In this case, the only planes that the Israelis had that were specifically unmarked were the ones seen in this incident...an example of what their planes would have looked like is shown in the illustration below.

The fact that USS Liberty was also just off the coast of Israel in international waters, also indicated that the planes had to be Israeli.

THE LIBERTY UNDER FIRE

The fighter bombers came in from the starboard side of the ship and opened fire at low altitude, strafing the ships with large caliber cannon fire. The first targets on the ship were the satellite dishes and antenna towers, they were hit with rockets and cannon fire. The cannon rounds also ripped up the decks, punching massive holes through living quarters, immediately killing 8 Americans and wounding over 100 others.

Below is an image of USS Liberty, seen nearly 20 hours after the attack.  It can be assumed that the photo was taken primarily to illustrate all the bullet holes in it and if you look closely you can see them all over the ship!  Read more about this further down the page.

To continue...the planes then turned around, came back and dropped incendiary bombs onto the ship setting her ablaze, they then repeatedly strafed the ship from bow to stern until their ammunition ran out.

NOTE: Out of interest, several thousand bullet holes were later counted on the ship, made by .50 caliber machine gun rounds.  Over 860 larger holes, the size of a man’s hand or larger, were also counted that were made by 20mm cannon fire, bombs and rockets. It can be noted too, that every other 20mm cannon round was explosive tipped. It is usual for a load-out of 20mm ammunition to have high explosive, armor piercing and incendiary bullets mixed in with the normal steel bullets.  This is done to incur maximum damage against a variety of targets and different materials.  Also, 20mm and 30mm cannon rounds in use today are generally made from depleted uranium...the impact fragmentation renders highly toxic and extremely  eco-unfriendly particles into the air.  Many babies being born in the warzones of Afghanistan and Iraq are now deformed at birth as a result of all this depleted uranium usage in ordnance.

After these planes had expended their ammunition, the ship was then attacked by medium bombers, these bombers deployed highly volatile white phosphorous bombs.  USS Liberty's decks were now well and truly ablaze but she was still afloat, so the Israelis then sent in three motor torpedo boats to finish her off.

Below is shown a typical MTB, Motor Torpedo Boat, these highly manoeuvrable, high speed gunboats have the ability to fire torpedoes from launchers that are situated on the boats deck.

The MTB's, that were clearly bearing Israeli flags, opened fire with .50 caliber Browning machine guns and 20mm cannon, they also fired torpedoes at the ship. One torpedo was a direct hit and blew a gaping 30 foot hole in her and killed a total of 26 crewmembers.  It was miraculous that this damage was not enough to sink her and kill the rest of the crew.

Survivors later reported that the Motor Torpedo Boats swept all the decks of USS Liberty with continuous bursts of machine gun fire, targeting communications equipment and any crewmembers who ventured above decks.

Below is an actual photo of the torpedo impact hole, right on the waterline of USS Liberty.  The explosion also ripped through the other side of the ship, making a much larger hole.

Reports from survivors stated that the entire ship was lifted out of the water by the force of the explosion, everyone in the immediate area of the blast was killed instantly.  Those who were further away were seriously maimed, injured and made deaf by the terrific explosion.

MEN IN THE WATER

Many of USS Liberty's crew now abandoned ship and were consequently sitting in their life rafts when the MTB's then executed an unbelievably inhumane act and machine gunned them, blasting them out of the water...apparently those in the life rafts threw themselves out, under the water and only received injuries with no fatalities.

Injured or not, the fact still remains that they were gunned down in their life rafts and this is totally inexcusable.  Also, we must not forget that all this was happening in international waters and that USS Liberty was clearly flying a large American flag that could not be missed.

The attack on USS Liberty went of for several hours none stop, the Israelis incessantly attacked the ship with the obvious intention of killing all aboard and sinking the vessel but the well built ship took all that the Israelis threw at her and she remained afloat.  During the entire attack, USS Liberty perpetually radioed the US Navy Sixth Fleet  that was 500 miles away just off Crete and implored them for air support and any assistance they could offer.

MESSAGE RECIEVED...

The radio signals were intercepted by the fleet despite the Israelis attempts at jamming them and two aircraft carriers, USS Saratoga CVA-60  and USS America CV-66 responded by sending out fighter aircraft.  It was believed that Egypt had attacked the ship and two fighter bomber aircraft with nuclear tipped missiles code named Condition November  were also deployed with the possibility of deployment in Cairo.

Admiral Lawrence Geiss of the Sixth Fleet then contacted headquarters to explain what had occurred, however, all the planes were immediately recalled under orders that came directly back from the Whitehouse via defence Secretary Robert McNamara.

Admiral Geiss again contacted the Whitehouse on an immediate return transmission to confirm the recall order, as they could not believe what they were hearing.  President L.B. Johnson himself then personally answered the call and told the Admiral that the order was true and correct and further added " I want that god dammed ship going to the bottom, no help...recall the wings...do ye hear me...recall em "

One could only imagine the strange scenario, an American ship under attack with the admiral of the Sixth Fleet imploring the President to allow a military response just to be ordered to stand down and let the ship sink.

WITHDRAWAL

The US carriers reluctantly withdrew their fighters and they returned to the carriers and landed back on the decks.  After two hours into the attack the Israelis then sent in two helicopters packed with combat troops.  The apparent intention of these special forces troops were to land on the ship and individually kill everyone on board to make absolutely sure everyone was dead.

Captain McGonagle of USS Liberty gave the order " prepare to repel boarders! " but the helicopters departed when they suddenly became aware of a soviet spy ship in the vicinity.  They then immediately withdrew all their forces, fearing the soviets could be a witness to the dastardly event.  The soviet spy ship had actually observed and documented a large portion of the incident, they had certainly seen the Israeli planes attacking the US ship.

NOTE: It is safe to say that if it wasn't for the accidental intervention of the soviet spy ship, that the helicopter would have landed the special forces on USS Liberty and murdered everyone aboard.  The crew had quite a bit of luck with them on that fateful day, as it was obviously planned that there were to be no survivors.

When the Israeli forces withdrew, USS Liberty only just managed to limp to safety and was finally escorted to Malta by elements of the Sixth Fleet.  She was listing heavily to starboard, was full of holes, her decks were all burned up and was she carrying mortally wounded crew aboard. The entire incident saw 34 men killed with over 170 wounded....some of them critically.

L. B. Johnsons alleged false flag operation had failed and it would have been at this point that he started reorganizing his cover up story!  President L. B. Johnson could now be envisaged like a duck in a pond, gliding along majestically on the surface but paddling like a lunatic underneath.

Below is a photo of USS Liberty as she limped her way to Malta for repairs, even though she sustained severe damage under the relentless attacks from torpedoes, rockets, bombs, machine gun and cannon fire, she managed to get there safely...that was a miracle in itself.

Below is shown the torpedo damage in closer detail, as USS Liberty sat in dry dock in Malta.  She limped there to have the damage repaired to make the ship seaworthy enough to sail back to the USA.

Israel later apologized and lied that they had mistaken the ship for an Egyptian spy ship that was possibly intending to invade their waters and that they fired warning shots that accidentally hit the ship.

NOTE: Whilst dry docked in Malta, USS Liberty underwent basic repairs to make her seaworthy.  She sailed back to the USA in July 1967 but was never operationally used again.  She was decommissioned a year later in 1968 and two years after that she was sold for  $100,000.  In December 1970 the same year, she was finally scrapped and cut up.

USS LIBERTY SPEAKS

Around forty years after this incident the truth has finally been revealed and it is understood exactly what happened, despite the numerous attempts by president L.B. Johnson the have it all covered up at the time.  Many members of the joint chiefs of staff have recently been interviewed by investigative journalists, those interviewed included Admiral Thomas Moore and the members of staff who were on the communications and actually heard what the president said.

Members of US JAGC United States Judge Advocate General Corps were also interviewed, these were the very same guys who were ordered to falsify the reports and cover up the incident, in effect to bury it.  However due to the fact that many Americans lost their lives in this incident, certain loyalties to the government were weakened to say the least and a very fragile alliance with their requests was in situ...or indeed none at all.

PILOT OF CONSCIENCE

One of the Israeli pilots who was flying one of the Mirage 3 fighter jets that attacked the ship went public several years ago, saying that he recognized the ship was an American vessel due to the flag it was flying and stated this over his radio, refusing to attack the ship.  The pilot stated that he stressed it was an ally in international waters and still refused to open fire on the vessel.  The reply he received from his superiors was that if he didn't attack the ship, then he would be arrested on his return and face a full court martial.

Aware that his superiors knew it was an American ship and that they still ordered the attack, the pilot said that he had no choice and henceforth engaged the ship.  If it is understood that the pilots did indeed have no choice then they should be exonerated of the crime.  One could ask " What would you have done in this situation?  " as I would have done the same...mine is not to reason why...

TO SUMMARIZE

President Lyndon Baines Johnson had full control over the entire escapade, from start to finish it was his baby.  Even though it was instigated by his faithful servant...Joint Chief of Staff, General Lemnitzer...L. B. Johnson was the main protagonist.  He put a US vessel into the Mediterranean, made a secret underhand deal with Israel to attack her.  To attack with the view of sinking her and to absolutely ensure all aboard would be killed to eliminate any witnesses.  Had it not been for the Soviet spy ship in the vicinity, this dastardly plan may have worked...

Little mouse, you're not alone, in proving foresight may be vain... The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry, and leave us nothing but grief and pain, for promised joy!

The attack was to be blamed on Egypt, thus giving the US the excuse to instigate war and start to take control over the entire middle east.  This plan was actually finally carried out, from the 911 World Trade Center incident in September 2001.

Incidentally, 911 is now generally accepted to have been a huge false flag operation, an inside job to give the US government the excuse they needed to invade the middle east with their War on Terror  guise.

MEN OF LIBERTY

The survivors of USS Liberty were told to keep quiet about the incident and were threatened with life imprisonment on trumped up charges of treason, some even received anonymous death threats.  If someone points a gun at your head then of course, at the time you will agree to anything, and many of them did.

Although the government later decided to change their story and all those that served on USS Liberty were hailed as heroes and men of valor.  They of course were all misunderstanding the event and the Israelis did not really attack on purpose...did they!
