The Film ' HellBoy ' is a fantasy action adventure about a demon that was raised from a baby by a scientist after being rescued from the Nazis in WWII.  Hellboy grows up to become a defender against the forces of darkness and is used as a sort of special weapon by the Government to kill monsters.

The movie is quite exciting all the way through and uses some great CGI special effects.  One part of Hellboy's persona is the huge gun that he carries to kill the monsters and this gun has now been reproduced by a company in a limited number of 10,000.

Hellboy's gun was called the 'Samaritan' and in the movie it was used to kill the Hell hounds and any other monster that received Hellboy's displeasure !

The gun comes with a display stand and four dummy cartridges that sit in niche's in the guns base.

The prop costs about $290 to buy although you might be able to find one off Ebay a bit cheaper if you fancy displaying something like this on top of your TV.

Hellboy's gun is quite big and in real life it would probably weigh about 20Lbs but this replica weighs only 10Lbs.  Its quite an awesome looking gun and I think that its one of the best fictional guns ever created for a movie and it suits the character of Hellboy very well.

It is a very faithful reproduction of the gun that was used in the movie right down to the operation of the swing open cylinder.  I have read somewhere that the detail on this gun is fantastic too, indistinguishable from the actual one used in the movie.

You can place the big bullets into the gun just as Hellboy did in the movie, ready to slay the Hellhounds. I would estimate that Hellboy's gun probably had a caliber of around 20mm although this has never been specified...its just a big gun !

Imagine what a real gun like this would be like ! It would be on comparison to an anti-tank gun.  The replica of the prop used in the movie would make a fantastic display piece and would be a great conversation point, specially with fans of the movie.

Replica firearms are illegal to buy and sell in the UK but in other countries you can buy and sell them quite legally and no license is required as the gun is just a movie prop or ' toy ' it could not be made to fire real bullets as the gun is not strong enough to withstand the forces involved when a real bullet is fired.

All in all, HellBoy's gun is a fantastic prop and its great that fans of the movie have an opportunity buy movie regalia like this to remind them of the movie and Hellboy for evermore.
