Lena Zavaroni shot to fame as a 10-year-old

This is a small tribute page to one of the greatest female vocalists of all time, Lena Zavaroni.

In the youtube video below she sings 'Going Nowhere' recorded in 1981.  Lena puts all of her heart and soul into this song and the result is an overwhelming and totally awesome performance.

The song was filled with emotion, emotion that can usually only come from one who is suffering and battling inside as she was.  Lena Zavaroni suffered from an acute eating disorder and the world was cruelly robbed of her talent when aged 35, she died of complications associated with depression and anorexia nervosa in 1999.

The condition that she suffered from was something that she had no control over, she even demanded brain surgery to fix the problem.  She wanted to eat and live as anyone else but she simply couldn't with this anorexia syndrome raging inside her.

Karen Carpenter was also another great female vocalist, one of the worlds best ever and sadly she also succumbed to this eating disorder.  Anorexia Nervosa is recognized as a serious neurological psychosomatic medical condition, a condition that is often fatal for the sufferer as it was indeed for Karen and Lena.

Lena Zavaroni will live on...in our hearts and minds and with her recordings that will remain forever more.

Here at Vince's Worthwhile Website I would like to say rest in peace Lena  and thank you for the music, genuine entertainment and great performing ability, ability that is so hard to find today so that you can be called " one of a kind " as you truly were.

This video truly remains as a testimony to her talent, her professionalism and inimitable style.
