1:12 Scale Model: 1959 Triumph Bonneville

Minichamps.com have scored again ! This rendition in die-cast metal and plastic is superb and its great to be able to have a miniature Triumph Bonny sitting next to my PC.  It would be great trouble to get a real one on the table!! so a scale miniature replica does the job!

These scale model motorcycles that minichamps produce are already assembled and packed in very nice presentation boxes, so there is no gluing or fixing of bits on it.

If I can add here, whilst I think about it...I am not a minichamps sales person, I don't get any freebies or cash for this page, I just advocate their scale model bikes as being extremely cool  for the bike enthusiast.

This scale model Triumph motorcycle is very neat and has smooth clear lines along with a simple uncluttered twin cylinder engine.

It was a bike that helped to make Triumph motorcycles famous.  This model in itself is a rapid seller and many bike lovers are having to wait  months to get one as that awful notice that reads:  'Out of Stock' is nearly always seen on websites that sell them.

With so many scale models replicating Japanese and American bikes these days its nice to find a model of a British bike, and Minichamps have chosen a good model to miniaturize as well.

Minichamps models are renowned for their fantastic attention to detail and this bike is no exception, under close scrutiny the model stands up in all its completeness.  When they assemble these scale model's in the factory I can imagine some worker taking hours to put all the wiring and cable's in place, the overall assembly must take a lot of time as well.

I would imagine that they are all in fact assembled by hand as it would be a very very expensive machine to produce them in automated fashion.

" you always get what you pay for " as the adage goes !

The spark plugs and carburetor are superbly detailed and one could easily believe that this model could actually start up.  I think that scale models like this are better than any photos of bikes in books as they never give a 3d perspective to what the bike actually looks like, whereas with a model you can view any angle you like to see different aspects of the bike.

Unfortunately we are again reduced to 2D on this website ! maybe 3D hologram Monitors will be with us in the future.

Well, that's about it from me about this model, sorry I can't tell more information on Triumph motorcycles in general as I am not a Triumph aficionado and I won't plagiarize someone else's sentences off the internet.  I would rather just keep to what I know, having a miscellaneous mind of assorted information is halfway there anyway !
