Here is a collection of some unbelievable pavement/sidewalk chalk & pastel paintings by artist Julian Beever.

Julian Beever is nicknamed the 'Pavement Picasso' and this is not without good reason !  I call him Artiste Le Grandissimo !

He originally came from Melton, Mowbray in Leicestershire, UK and used to be a Punch and Judy showman, but when he realised his talent as a street artist in the mid 1990s he spent all his spare time making pavement/sidewalk masterpieces.

Read more about him and his works as you scroll down the page.

Julian Beever has been creating fantastic works of art on pavements/sidewalks with chalk and pastels since about 1995.  The majority of Julian's works use a very clever method of projection called ' anamorphisis ' which means that when a picture is looked at from the right direction  the art work ' jumps out ' at you in a 3D perspective.
